Argent LNG LCC has let a contract to Baker Hughes as a technology provider for its proposed LNG export plant in Port Fourchon, La.
Baker Hughes will supply liquefaction solutions, power generation equipment, and gas compression systems for the plant, which is targeting LNG production capacity of about 24 million tonnes/year. The agreement also comprises a multi-year services plan, including digital solutions, to support Argent LNG terminal operations, Baker Hughes said in a release Feb. 3.
In June 2024, Argent LNG signed a long-term lease agreement with the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, securing 144 acres of land at Port Fourchon, La., for the project, and earlier this year, signed a heads of agreement with the Government of Bangladesh for LNG supply (OGJ Online, June 25, 2024; Jan. 27, 2025).
Argent LNG expects to begin Phase 1 construction in 2026, with commercial operations expected by 2030.
