Argent LNG lets contract for onshore tank technology for LNG plant at Port Fourchon
Argent LNG has selected GTT technology as part of its proposed LNG development in Port Fourchon, La.
GTT will provide cryogenic membrane containment system used in the transport and storage of LNG, Argent LNG said in a release July 22. The systems will be integrated into Argent LNG's storage infrastructure.
In 2024, Argent LNG secured a long-term exclusive lease with the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, securing 144 acres of land at Port Fourchon, La., as the company moves to develop an LNG export plant with a projected capacity of up to 20 million tonnes/year pending approvals (OGJ Online, June 25, 2024). It expects to begin operations in 2029-30.
According to the company website, the initial phase will see the installation of liquefaction trains with an initial capacity of 10 million tpy at an estimated cost of $10 billion. A second phase calls for four additional LNG trains with capacity of up to 10 million tpy.
Worley has been selected as program manager and Kiewit as the EPC contractor.
