HOUSTON, July 22 – Energy XXI (Bermuda) Ltd., Houston, gauged an oil and gas discovery in Vermilion Parish, La.
Participant Yuma Exploration & Production Co., Houston, said the McIlhenny-1 ST 2 well on Yuma’s Cote de Mer prospect stabilized at 15.8 MMcfd of gas at 14,873 psi on an 11/64-in. choke. The same zone initially also produced oil at nonstable rates of 800-2,000 b/d.
Other pay zones were identified, but none was tested. Energy XXI drilled the well to TD 23,300 ft measured depth, 23,329 ft true vertical depth. It is shut-in pending installation of production facilities. Yuma’s working interest is 6.25% before payout and 23.44% afterward.
