Momentum awards Haynesville NG3 gas treatment installation to Evers & Sons
M6 Midstream LLC (Momentum) has awarded field installation work for its Gillis gas treatment plant to Evers & Sons Inc. The plant is part of Momentum’s 1.7-bcfd Hayneville shale New Generation Gas Gathering (NG3) system.
Troy Construction is building the 255-mile gathering system, which will be part of moving Haynesville natural gas the LNG plant on the US Gulf Coast. Sited in Gillis, La., the gas treatment plant is part of NG3’s planned integrated carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), which Evers & Sons says will give the project a net-negative CO2 emissions profile, applying services such as CO2 amine treating and CO2 compression to the field gas.
Opero Energy engineered, designed, and fabricated the plant’s equipment. Evers & Sons will set major equipment, install more than 60,000 linear feet of prefabricated 2- to 36-in. OD pipe spools, including ~80,000 field welding inches, insulating ~20,000 linear feet of piping and equipment, and erecting ~570 tons of structural steel.
Evers & Sons will also manage the activities of its partner, MEITEC, which is executing all electrical and instrumentation installation.
The system is anchored by long-term volume commitments from Haynesville shale producers, including Expand Energy Corp. (formerly Chesapeake), which also has an option to own 35% of the project (OGJ Online, Sept. 23, 2022). Southwestern Energy Co. will also be shipping on NG3.
