INEOS completes start-up of electric-drive compression for Breagh field
INEOS Energy and ONE-Dyas UK Ltd. completed start-up of a new onshore electric-drive compressor at North Sea Midstream Partners-owned Teesside Gas Processing Plant (TGPP).
The electric-driven compressor will increase gas flows from the INEOS-operated Breagh natural gas field with a lower carbon footprint than the gas alternative, the company said in a release Oct. 10.
Breagh field lies in the Southern North Sea 65 km off the coast of England. Development consists of a 12-slot minimum wellhead platform with 11 production wells, a 100 km wet gas export pipeline to the beach, and a further 11 km of onshore pipeline to TGPP for processing and delivery of gas into the UK National Transmission System. The field is a normally unattended installation and has one of the lowest carbon intensities of gas fields in the UK, according to INEOS.
Located at Seal Sands on Teesside, UK, TGPP has among the highest liquid extraction rate capabilities in Europe, with two trains that process gas from the Central and Southern North Sea, according to North Sea Midstream Partners. The plant is capable of meeting up to 10% of the UK’s gas demand, with a combined capacity of 675 MMcfd.
