Venture Global LNG and SEFE Securing Energy for Europe GmbH (SEFE) have executed a 20-year LNG sales agreement, with SEFE subsidiary WINGAS GmbH purchasing 2.25 million tonnes/year (tpy) from CP2 LNG, Venture Global’s third project, under development in Cameron Parish, La.
With the deal, Venture Global becomes the largest long-term LNG supplier to Germany, said Mike Sabel, Venture Global chief executive officer, in a release June 22.
SEFE, a German state-owned company, joins other CP2 LNG customers, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, JERA, New Fortress Energy, INPEX, China Gas, and EnBW. To date, 9.25 million tpy of the 20 million tpy nameplate capacity for CP2 has been sold, and discussions are ongoing for the remaining capacity, the company said, and about one-third of the current offtake agreements are with German buyers.
