TGS advances gas transportation, compression expansion in Vaca Muerta
Transportadora Gas del Sur (TGS) has advanced works to support Vaca Muerta formation development in Argentina.
The company has completed a 32-km extension of the Vaca Muerta Norte gas pipeline, connecting Los Toldos I Sur and El Trapial blocks and consolidating a network of 183 km of gas pipelines in the Vaca Muerta play.
In addition, TGS started operating two Joule-Thomson plants that are set to increase gas conditioning capacity at the Tratayén compression and treatment plant to 15 million cu m/d from 7.6 million cu m/d. Project investment is estimated at $100 million.
TGS has also begun construction on installation and commissioning of two new gas conditioning plants in the region. By 2024, the plants are expected to increase capacity at the Tratayén plant to 28 million cu m/day.
