Shell lets EPCI contract for newly sanctioned Gulf of Mexico project
Shell Offshore Inc. has let an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract to Subsea 7 SA for the newly sanctioned Silvertip Phase 3 project in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Subsea 7 will supply a production flowline and related subsea infrastructure at Alaminos Canyon, with depths reaching up to 3,000 m.
Project management and engineering will start immediately at Subsea7's office in
Houston, Tex., with offshore activities expected to begin in 2026.
The Shell plc subsidiary recently took final investment decision (FID) to proceed with the Phase 3 Silvertip project, which will deliver two wells to boost production at the Shell-operated Perdido spar (OGJ Online, Dec. 12, 2024).
