Texas LNG Brownsville LLC (Texas LNG), a subsidiary of Glenfarne Energy Transition LLC, has let a contract to Kiewit, through its subsidiaries Kiewit Engineering Group Inc. and Kiewit Energy Group Inc., to lead the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the 4-million tonnes/year plant to be constructed in the Port of Brownsville, Tex., under a lump-sum turnkey structure.

Texas LNG also will work with Kiewit to complete the pre-final investment decision (FID) engineering required for the project to proceed to FID.

The Texas LNG plant received its Section 10 and Section 404 permits from the US Army Corps of Engineers and Texas state-level approval from the Railroad Commission of Texas early this year and recently noted selling sufficient offtake for FID (OGJ Online, Jan. 25, 2024; Sept. 11, 2024).
