ADNOC farms out concession interest to SOCAR

ADNOC awarded a 3% participating interest in the Satah Al Razboot (SARB) and Umm Lulu concession offshore Abu Dhabi.

ADNOC awarded a 3% participating interest in the Satah Al Razboot (SARB) and Umm Lulu concession offshore Abu Dhabi to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

Oil fields Umm Lulu and SARB lie 30 km and 120 km off the Abu Dhabi coast, respectively, in shallow water. Production flows by pipeline to dedicated processing, storage, and loading infrastructure on Zirku Island (OGJ Online, Sept 27, 2018).

The concession uses digitalization and AI technologies for remote monitoring, smart well operations, and production management to optimize production efficiency, reduce emissions, enhance safety, and increase production capacity, according to an ADNOC release about the deal May 31. Both fields use intelligent well surveillance technology for operational efficiency, the company continued.

The concession is operated by ADNOC Offshore (OGJ Online, Mar. 1, 2023).
