Guyana's Ministry of Natural Resources has extended the Guyana 2022 licensing round bid submission deadline to July 15, 2023.
The nation's first competitive offshore oil and gas licensing round was announced Dec. 9, 2022, with an original closing date of Apr. 14, 2023 (OGJ Online, Dec. 13, 2022). On offer for tender are fourteen offshore blocks of 1,000-3,000 sq km in shallow and deep-water areas.
The administration recently concluded agreements with PGS Exploration (UK) and CGG Data Services to reprocess additional 2D seismic data relevant to the blocks.
Potential resource offshore Guyana is estimated at more than 25 billion boe with an estimated reserve of more than 11 billion boe.
