Rockhopper Exploration PLC received extensions of South Falkland basin production licenses following from the Falkland Islands government (FIG).
The extension—to Dec. 3, 2024 from Dec. 3, 2022, with no additional license commitments—enables the company to progress its understanding of prospective licenses in the southern portion of the basin, particularly PL011 which adjoins Borders & Southern Petroleum PLC’s Darwin gas condensate discovery, the company said in a release Nov. 30.
Meantime, the company’s primary focus is working with Navitas Petroleum LP to bring the Sea Lion development in the North Falkland Basin to fruition, it said.
Rockhopper is operator of South Falkland basin acreage with 100% working interest.
