Norwegian labor union Lederne and the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association (NOROG) reached a financial settlement Oct. 9, ending a 10-day strike which previously threatened to shut down Equinor-operated Johan Sverdrup field on Oct. 14, partner Lundin Energy noted in a statement Oct. 12. Operations will continue as normal.
The strike was the result of a break in negotiations between NOROG and Lederne on Sept. 30 resulting in controlled closure of Equinor-operated fields Gudrun, Gina Krog, Kvitebjørn, and Valemon days later (OGJ Online, Oct. 5, 2020).
