Harbour Energy discovers gas-condensate southeast of Aberdeen
Harbour Energy PLC discovered hydrocarbons in the Jocelyn South prospect (P032) in Block 30/07a in the UK Continental Shelf Central North Sea (CNS), said Ithaca Energy PLC in a Dec. 26 release.
The top of the Joanne reservoir was encountered in the well at 12,620 ft TVDSS (17,763 ft MD). Gas-condensate (not sampled) was encountered in the Joanne sandstone reservoir, with provisional 434 ft MD (307.6 ft TVT) net pay thickness.
Logging while drilling data, cuttings, and pressures were recorded during drilling to establish reservoir quality and fluid parameters. Harbour intends to complete data gathering and evaluate the drilling results to establish commerciality of the reservoir.
Jocelyn South forms part of the J-Area in Block 30/7a, which is about 240 km south-east of Aberdeen. J-block activities in 2024 included drilling Jocelyn South and two infill wells and a rig-based well intervention campaign at Judy. Planning for additional wells to further increase recovery from J-Area is also under way.
Harbour Energy is operator at Jocelyn South (67%) with partner Ithaca Energy (33%).
