Aramco makes seven oil, gas discoveries in Eastern Province, Empty Quarter

Saudi Aramco has discovered seven oil and gas deposits in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province and Empty Quarter, according to Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Saudi Aramco has discovered seven oil and gas deposits in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province and Empty Quarter, according to Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Eastern Province discoveries included:

Al-Farouk unconventional oil field; Al-Farouk-4 well flowing 4,557 b/d of Arab ultra-light oil with 3.79 MMscfd associated gas.

Ladam unconventional oil field; Ladam-2 well flowing 5,100 b/d of very light Arabian oil with 4.9 MMscfd of associated gas.

Unayzah B/C reservoir in Mazalij field; Mazalij-62 flowing 1,780 b/d of Arab light oil with 0.7 MMscfd associated gas.

Empty Quarter discoveries included:

Al-Jahaq field; Al-Jahaq-1 well flowing from the Al-Arab-C reservoir at 5.3 MMscfd and from the Al-Arab-D reservoir at 1.1 MMscfd.

Al-Katuf field; Al-Katuf-1 well flowing 7.6 MMscfd with 40 b/d condensate.

Hanifa reservoir; Asikra-6 well flowing 4.9 MMscfd in the Asikra field and 0.6 MMscfd from the Al-Fadhili reservoir, accompanied by about 100 b/d condensate.
