BW Energy received an extension of the Golfinho license in Espírito Santo basin by Brazilian oil and gas regulator ANP.

BW Energy received an extension of the Golfinho license in Espírito Santo basin by Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Brazil's oil and gas regulator.

The production phase under the Golfinho concession contract has been extended to 2042 following ANP’s approval of the company’s field development plan in November 2024.

The Golfinho cluster lies in 1,300-2,200 m of water. Hydrocarbons are produced from the Cidade de Vitória floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO). The field has been producing since 2007.

The field has six producing subsea wells in Campanian and Maastrichtian-aged reservoirs tied to the FPSO. Crude oil is offloaded to shuttle tankers and gas can be transported to or from shore through a pipeline routed to the Cacimbas Gas Treatment Unit.

BW Energy Maromba do Brasil Ltda currently holds 100% operated ownership interest the Golfinho license following the August 2023 acquisition of Golfinho and Camarupim Clusters (OGJ Online, Aug. 29, 2023).
