Eni signs agreement with Egypt, Cyprus to develop, export Block 6 gas
Eni and TotalEnergies, 50-50 partners (Eni, operator) in Cyprus’ Cronos Block 6, signed a Host Government Agreement (HGA) with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Cyprus related to development of the block’s natural gas resources.
The agreement outlines a framework aimed at a rapid development of the Cronos gas discovery offshore Cyprus, the companies said in separate releases Feb. 17. Gas will be transported and processed in existing Zohr infrastructure and then liquefied at the Damietta LNG plant for export to European markets.
Eni and TotalEnergies will now proceed with the Cronos Development and Production Plan, in collaboration with Cyprus authorities.
