Cairn Oil & Gas submitted a field development plan (FDP) to initially produce more than 2,000 boe/d from its onshore Jaya gas and condensate discovery on Block CB-ONHP-2017/2 in the Bharuch district of Gujarat, India.
Cairn predicted subsurface sweet spots in and around the Jaya area, and a cluster of prospects has been identified which can be developed through tieback to Jaya infrastructure, the company said in a release Jan. 10.
During appraisal, Jaya started test gas evacuations through truck-mounted compressed natural gas (CNG) kits providing CNG to nearby gas stations, minimizing gas flaring while allowing appraisal. Cairn has signed a commercial gas sales agreement for gas offtake.
Block CB-ONHP-2017/2 is one of the 41 areas awarded to Cairn in the first open acreage licensing policy (OALP-I) auction. This will be the first FDP submitted among 144 blocks awarded under the OALP rounds.
Cairn, part of Vedanta Ltd., holds 100% participating interest in the block.
