Vår Energi drills dry hole in North Sea
Vår Energi ASA will plug wells targeting the Hubert and Magellan prospects in North Sea production license PL 917 after no producible reservoir was observed.
Wells 25/7-12A and 25/7-12S were drilled by the Deepsea Yantai semisubmersible platform. The objective was to prove petroleum in the Hubert prospect in the Paleocene Hermod formation, and in the Magellan prospect in Eocene Injectites in the Balder formation.
The wells are classified as dry.
Vår Energi is operator of the license with 40% interest. Partners are AkerBP (40%) and Equinor Energy AS (20%).
