Petronas CCS Solution (PCCSS), a subsidiary of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Carbon Clean to jointly collaborate and evaluate the service provider's carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology.
Carbon Clean’s CycloneCC modular solution will be the primary focus of the MOU. Its physical footprint occupies up to 50% less space than conventional carbon capture solutions and the equipment is 10 times smaller, the company said. Rotating packed bed technology uses centrifugal force to increase the efficiency of the carbon capture process, it continued.
Both companies will work together to explore and develop how the modular technology can be used for post combustion CO2 capture.
