CNOOC starts production at Bozhong 19-2
CNOOC Ltd. started production at the Bozhong 19-2 Oilfield Development Project in central Bohai Bay in 20 m of water.
Main production infrastructure includes a new central processing platform and four new unmanned wellhead platforms. A total of 59 development wells are planned to be commissioned, including 34 production wells and 25 water-injection wells.
The project is expected to achieve a peak production of about 18,800 b/d of heavy crude in 2025.
Bozhong 19-2 is one of China’s major projects which also include the Suizhong 36-1/Luda 5-2 oilfield secondary adjustment and development project, the Shenhai-1 Phase II natural gas development project, the Huizhou 26-6 oilfield development project, and the Shenfu deep-play coalbed methane exploration and development demonstration project. These projects will contribute towards CNOOC’s 2025 net production target of 780-800 MMboe, with an increase to 810-830 MMboe in 2026 (OGJ Online, Jan. 26, 2024).
CNOOC is operator of Bozhong 19-2 with 100% interest.
