bp started production from the second development phase of Raven field, offshore Egypt.

The Raven Infills project produces from a subsea tieback of additional Raven infill wells to its existing onshore infrastructure as part of the West Nile Delta (WND) project. The new wells are expected to produce about 220 bcf of gas and 7 million bbl of condensate and will provide additional production to counter natural field decline.

The project was safely executed ahead of schedule, the operator said in a release Feb. 17.

The WND gas development project comprises a series of gas condensate fields offshore Egypt, within the North Alexandria and West Mediterranean Deepwater concessions. Raven field, the final phase of the WND project, has been in production since early 2021. Its initial phase included the development of eight subsea wells, located up to 65 km offshore, at 550-700 m water depths.

bp is operator (82.75%) with partner Harbour Energy (17.25%).
