Beach Energy produces first gas from Thylacine wells
Beach Energy Ltd. has produced first gas from Thylacine West 1 and 2 development wells in Otway basin, offshore Australia, about 70 km south of Port Campbell following successful connection to the Otway Gas Plant.
The wells are in about 100 m of water, and the field is connected to the Thylacine subsea network via a 4.2-km, 8-in. flowline.
Thylacine field lies in Blocks T/30P, VIC/P43, VIC/L23, T/L3, and T/L2 and produces conventional gas.
"First gas from Thylacine West marks completion of the largest ever offshore drilling and development program in the Otway Basin...The Thylacine West development wells have provided a material increase in well deliverability for the Otway Gas Plant," said managing director and chief executive officer Brett Woods.
Beach Energy is operator at Thylacine (60%) with partner O.G Energy Holdings (40%).
