Energean starts Karish North production
Energean PLC produced first gas at Karish North, offshore Israel, on Feb. 22, 2024.
The Karish North production well is currently using the second gas export riser and is tied back to the Energean Power floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, 5.4 km from the well. The riser was installed in December 2023. The Energean Power FPSO now has four production wells in operation.
The Karish North development is the second oil train and second export riser in the Karish field development. Karish North contains gross 1,137 bcf gas 2P reserves plus 34.1 million bbl liquids 2P reserves. First gas at Karish field was produced on Oct. 26, 2022.
The addition of Karish North will allow Energean to produce to the full 8 billion cu m/year capacity of its FPSO and sales gas pipeline infrastructure, the company said (OGJ Online, Oct. 26, 2022).
