Shell begins production at Appomattox tieback
Shell Offshore Inc. started production at Rydberg, a subsea tie-back to its Appomattox production hub in the Gulf of Mexico. Estimated peak production is 16,000 boe/d.
Rydberg is within Mississippi Canyon in the Norphlet Corridor of the Gulf of Mexico, about 75 miles off the coast of Louisiana in about 7,450 ft of water. Rydberg is developed with two production wells produced through a single insulated 12-mile flowline with a dynamic umbilical.
Recoverable 2P resource volumes of Rydberg are currently estimated to be 38 MMBoe.
Shell is operator of the leases, which include Rydberg, with 80% interest. CNOOC holds the remaining 20%.
Shell operates Appomattox with 79% interest. CNOOC holds the remaining 21%.
