Petroecuador to boost Amistad offshore production 4 MMcfd
State-owned Petroecuador announced that Amistad field’s natural gas production will increase by around 4 MMcfd in January 2024. Amistad currently produces 20.5 MMcfd.
The company has initiated reconditioning and maintenance work for rigless wells in natural gas reservoirs AMSB-10 and AMSA 016S1, Amistad field, Block 6, 70 km offshore in the Gulf of Guayaquil. A multidisciplinary team will carry out well stimulation to increase natural gas production.
Amistad is Petroecuador’s only offshore operation. It includes 20 wells: 17 drilled and three producing. Cumulative production from January to November 2023 reached 7.05 bcf 1.2 million boe/d.
The Amistad plans were announced simultaneously with the resignation of Petroecuador's deputy manager, Eduardo Miranda Patiño, after only 9 days in office.
