Well 24/12-8 S, Rumpetroll South, was the sixth in the license and was drilled by the Deepsea Nordkapp rig to a vertical depth of 2,263 m subsea in 118 m of water (OGJ Online, Mar. 15, 2024) It was terminated in the Heimdal formation in the Palaeocene.

The objective of the well was to prove petroleum in Eocene reservoir rocks in the Balder formation. The well encountered formation in a total of about 97 m, 4 m of which was sandstone with very good reservoir quality. A small quantity of non-producible gas was proven at the top of the reservoir.

The well is classified as dry and has been plugged.
