Arrow Exploration reaches depth in Tapir block well
Arrow Exploration Corp. reached target depth on the Alberta Llanos-1 (AB-1) well on Tapir block in Colombia’s Llanos basin.
The exploration well spudded on Nov. 30, 2024, and reached target depth on Dec. 13. The well targeted a large, three-way fault-bounded structure with multiple high-quality reservoir objectives. The well was drilled to a measured depth of 9,960 ft (8,846 ft TVD).
According to an initial log interpretation, the well encountered four main hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs with 121 ft TVD, including the C7, Gacheta, Guadalupe, and Ubaque. Arrow intends to start production testing shortly.
"The Ubaque and Guadalupe reservoirs indicate significant potential for horizontal well exploitation," said Marshall Abbott, chief executive officer of Arrow, in a release Dec. 17.
"The next steps are to put the well on production," he continued. "Once AB-1 is on production, the rig will immediately move to drill AB-2 to further evaluate this discovery."
Arrow has 50% working interest in Tapir block.
