Reach Oil & Gas spuds Seminole County well
Reach Oil & Gas Co. Inc. spudded the Andrews 2-17 well in Seminole County, Okla.
The target for this well is the Hunton Limestone, one of the main hydrocarbon reservoirs in the state. The Hunton Limestone is unconformably overlain by the Woodford Shale main oil-prone source rock and is in an excellent position for the migration of oil.
This up-dip (located up the slope) offset well to the Andrews 1-17 well is expected to encounter a similar reservoir above the oil-water contact seen in that commercial discovery well. Primary oil recovery is expected to be by solution-gas drive with any gas recovered to surface being sold into the local network.
Drilling is expected to take 8 days to reach a depth of about 4,700 ft. The well has an 80% estimated geological chance of success. If successful, completion time will also be about 8 days including perforating and flowback. The well will share production infrastructure with Andrews 1-17.
Continuing work at the Andrews 1-17 wellsite includes installation of gas export infrasturcture and further upgrades. This work is expected to be completed by late July-early August 2024, followed by flow rates and other associated information.
Reach Oil & Gas is operator of Andrews 2-17. Union Jack Oil PLC holds 45% interest.
