88 Energy to flow test Hickory-1 in Project Phoenix
88 Energy Ltd. will flow test the Hickory-1 well in Project Phoenix on the North Slope of Alaska after constructing an ice pad and commissioning All American Oilfield’s Rig 111.
Once mobilization of the rig is completed and rigged up at the well site, operations will start with retrieval of the kill string in the well, followed by drill out of plugs, cleanup of the wellbore, and change-out to completion fluid ahead of perforation of the first zone.
The Hickory-1 exploration well spud in March 2023 to TD of 10,650 ft, validating the presence of multiple hydrocarbon-bearing zones across all six predrill targets. The company obtained data to design and plan the flow test in the 2024 winter season and identified a new Upper SFS reservoir (OGJ Online, Sept. 21, 2023).
Project Pheonix, formerly Icewine East, contains 290 MMbo unrisked net mean prospective resources and 157 MMboe 2C net contingent resources.
88 Energy holds 75% interest and is operator of the Project Phoenix area.
