General Hydrocarbons begins drilling offshore Nigeria

General Hydrocarbons Ltd. (GHL) has started drilling offshore Nigeria with the Blackford Dolphin semi-submersible drilling rig.

General Hydrocarbons Ltd. (GHL), Lagos, has started drilling offshore Nigeria with the Blackford Dolphin semi-submersible drilling rig.

After completion of its recertification for a new 5-year period in Las Palmas, Spain, the Dolphin Drilling AS-owned rig was towed to Port Harcourt in Nigeria in February to begin its 12-month drilling contract with GHL (OGJ Online, Oct. 6, 2022).

After concluding work for GHL, the Blackford Dolphin will begin contractual work for Peak Petroleum Industries Ltd. in Nigeria (OGJ Online Mar. 10, 2023).
