Zephyr Energy PLC started drilling operations at the State 36-2 LNW-CC well in Paradox basin, Utah.

The well's objective is to further delineate the Cane Creek reservoir beyond the productive State 16-2 LN-CC well and the nearby Federal 28-11 well (which was recently acquired by Zephyr and is shut in because the well’s gas export pipeline and Powerline Road gas processing plant are offline).

Drilling is planned to 20,456 ft TD and 9,598 ft TVD incorporating a 10,346 ft horizontal reservoir-section and is expected to take about 30 days. After reaching TD, a completion crew will be mobilized to hydraulically stimulate the horizontal portion of the well. Production testing will immediately follow.

CWC Ironhand Drilling Rig 118 mobilized to the well-site and has been assembled and tested. All necessary ancillary service providers arrived on site to support drilling operations.

Paradox basin has produced 10 MMboe to date, mostly from the Cane Creek field and reservoir (OGJ Online, Oct. 10, 2022).

Zephyr operates 45,000 gross acres in Paradox basin. The company holds 75% or more in most of the acreage.
