Kistos seeks appraisal permit following North Sea license extension win
Kistos NL1 BV will apply for an appraisal well permit for after having received a 5-year extension on Dutch North Sea license M10/M11.
The operator successfully appealed a previous decision by the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs not to extend the term.
The license lies about 13 km offshore near the Wadenzee area. Kistos estimates M10/M11 contains 2P reserves of 36.2 MMboe and 2C resources of 72.2 MMboe.
In first-half 2021, Kistos purchased Tulip Oil Netherlands (renamed Kistos NL1) and its subsidiary, Tulip Oil Netherlands Offshore (renamed Kistos NL2). Kistos received 60% interest and operatorship in the producing Q10-A gas field and in M10/M11 with partner Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) holding the remaining 40%.
In November 2021 Kistos drilled the Q11-B appraisal well in block Q11 (OGJ Online, Nov. 22, 2021).
