TurkmenGaz to lead TAPI pipeline venture

State-owned TurkmenGaz of Turkmenistan will lead the consortium of national governments planning to build, own, and operate the 1,800-km Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) natural gas pipeline.

State-owned TurkmenGaz of Turkmenistan will lead the consortium of national governments planning to build, own, and operate the 1,800-km Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) natural gas pipeline (OGJ Online, Nov. 14, 2014).

The decision came at a meeting of representatives of the countries in Ashgabat. The group earlier had sought an international company to lead the project, which is to have capacity to carry 90 MMscfd of Turkmen gas.
