The expert appraisal committee of India’s Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (EFCC) will consider environmental clearance for RIL’s project in a 2-day meeting that will run Dec. 19-20, according to the EFCC meeting agenda.
The project proposes to expand production capacity of the 551,000-b/d Special Economic Zone (SEZ) refinery of the Jamnagar complex to about 823,400 b/d from its current production capacity of about 706, 900 b/d, the EFCC agenda said.
Details regarding the proposed project and whether it also will impact crude processing capacity at the site have yet to be revealed.
