Total Oil Trading SA, the oil and gas trading arm of Total SA, Paris, published an assay dated Apr. 28, 2020, for Sururu crude oil, produced from Berbigão and Sururu fields in the BM-S-11-A concession of the Iara license in Brazil’s deepwater Santos basin presalt.
Operator Petróleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) began producing crude oil and natural gas in November 2019 from its P-68 floating production, storage, and offloading vessel (FPSO) stationed in Berbigão field (OGJ Online, Nov. 15, 2019). In 2,280 m of water about 230 km off Rio de Janeiro state, the P-68 FPSO processes up to 150,000 b/d of oil and 6 million cu m/day of gas from 10 production wells and seven injector wells in Berbigão and Sururu fields. Built by Sembcorp Marine Ltd. subsidiary Estaleiro Jurong Aracruz Ltda. and measuring 316-m long by 54-m wide, the P-68 FPSO features a crude storage capacity of 1.6 million bbl and an injection water-treatment capacity of 180,000 b/d. The FPSO’s crude production is offloaded to shuttle tankers for transport to terminals, while gas production is delivered to land for treatment via the Rota 1 and Rota 2 gas pipelines, according to Petrobras.
In addition to Petrobras (42.5%), partners in the BM-S-11-A Consortium for Berbigão, Sururu, and West Atapu include Shell Brasil Petróleo Ltda. (25%), Total E&P do Brasil Ltda. (22.5%), and Petrogal Brasil SA (10%).
