Texas LNG, EQT execute binding LNG tolling agreement

July 24, 2024
Texas LNG has executed a definitive 20-year tolling agreement with EQT for natural gas liquefaction services at its plant under development in Texas.

Texas LNG Brownsville LLC, a subsidiary of Glenfarne Energy Transition LLC, has executed a definitive 20-year tolling agreement with EQT Corp. for natural gas liquefaction services at its 4-million tonne/year (tpy) LNG plant being developed at the Port of Brownsville, Tex. The agreement is for 2 million tpy of LNG from Texas LNG’s 2-million tpy first train.

The agreement solidifies the two heads of agreement signed by Texas LNG and EQT earlier this year (OGJ Online, Jan. 24, 2024; Apr. 23, 2024).

More broadly, Texas LNG has signed offtake agreements for the majority of the project’s remaining offtake, including an agreement with an unnamed market participant for 500,000 tpy earlier this month (OGJ Online, July 2, 2024).

Texas LNG will begin construction in 2024 and commence commercial operations in 2028.
