Venture Global to supply ExxonMobil with 2 million tpy of LNG
Venture Global LNG Inc. has executed two long-term agreements with ExxonMobil LNG Asia Pacific for sale of 2 million tonnes/year (tpy) of LNG. Under the agreements, ExxonMobil will buy 1 million tpy each from Venture Global’s 20-million tpy Plaquemines LNG plant and its 20-million tpy CP2 LNG plant.
ExxonMobil LNG Asia Pacific has a license from Singapore’s Energy Market Authority to import and sell LNG. The company also has a 1-million tpy, 20-year supply deal with China’s Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group (OGJ Online. Apr. 22, 2019).
The agreement is the second for CP2, construction of which is expected to begin in 2023. The first was signed earlier this year with New Fortress Energy Inc. (OGJ Online, Mar. 16, 2022).
Both Plaquemines and CP2 will employ the same modular construction used at Venture Global’s 10-million tpy Calcasieu Pass LNG plant (OGJ Online, Apr. 29, 2022).
