Cheniere Energy, Houston, reported the substantial completion of Train 2 at the Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) project in Corpus Christi, Tex., was achieved Aug. 28. Commissioning is complete and Cheniere’s partner, Bechtel Oil, Gas & Chemicals Inc., turned over care, custody, and control of Train 2 to Cheniere.
Under sale and purchase agreements with Electricite de France, SA, Iberdrola SA, Naturgy Energy Group SA, PT Pertamina (Persero), and Woodside Energy Trading Singapore Pte. Ltd., first commercial delivery is expected in May 2020, upon which the term of each of these SPAs commences.
Each train in the three-train CCL project is expected to have a nominal production capacity of 4.5 million tonnes/year of LNG.
Through its partnership with Cheniere, Bechtel has now delivered seven LNG trains at two sites on the US Gulf Coast since 2015.
