New data logger offers precise accuracy

Here's the Data Dolphin 128 (DD-128) data logger.

It has an ultrahigh resolution, 24-bit, analog-to-digital section that provides eight differential bipolar inputs with resolution down to 90 nanovolts. This allows most sensors to be directly connected without any signal conditioning. An additional four inputs allow the user to select pulse, status, or analog capability. All inputs have static protection.

Designed for use in applications such as pump station monitoring, the DD-128 is encapsulated in a waterproof case and offers reliable operation in temperatures of –40° to +75° Celsius. These units provide 1 mb nonvolatile flash memory.

Three C size alkaline batteries provide power, and an adapter input for 120 v AC operation and an optional coin cell battery keep the clock operating when the battery pack is being exchanged. An external 12 v source, such as a rechargeable battery and-or solar panel, can be connected.

Data Dolphin software allows the user to set up the program, view the data, generate graphs, and export the data to other software for more detailed analysis and presentations.

New rivetable self-sealing septum

This new rivetable self-sealing septum—SEPTEC—rivet seal, once installed in a panel, has the characteristics of a septum.

After installation with a standard handheld blind riveter in a 13/64 in. hole, <1/16 in. wall, a needle, wire, electrode, or probe may be inserted through the rivet and the septum membrane of the component. This opens the capacity to add, remove, or act on a substance inside a cavity, after sealing.

Operations such as multichemical processes, gas, liquid, or solid insertion-dosing-removal, anode-cathode reactions and plating, and electrical activation may be contemplated, investigated, analyzed and tested.

SEPTEC is made of an aluminum eyelet, a hollow steel mandrel and a Dupont Hytrel 4069 engineering thermoplastic elastomer membrane. Only the membrane material is in contact with the content and wall of the cavity.

Free software update for liquid level gauge

A free upgrade to this firm's liquid level gauge setup software is available at www.mtslevelsensors.com.

The MG version 2.08 setup software for DDA digital sensors offers enhanced features, including data logging and analysis via Excel documents and charts. Suited for remote monitoring, the software enables logging of product and interface levels, temperature, and diagnostic functions.

The software upgrade makes it easier to collect tank data for calibration, commissioning, and monitoring of individual or groups of tanks, the company says.

The software works by allowing the user to log data to a *.csv file, which may be opened using standard applications. To log data from several tanks, the software scans each tank and saves the data under the tank address to which it is designated, i.e., tankfarm 1.csv, tankfarm 2.csv.

Gas plant accounting system enhanced

A new, enhanced version of Quorum TIPS gas plant accounting and allocations system is available.

Functional enhancements include the ability to handle submonthly or daily allocations, improved audit, and security features to ensure that it meets new industry standards for corporate governance and reporting such as Sarbanes-Oxley.

The new version of the software has migrated to the next generation technical architecture as part of this firm's annual product release program.

The company says the new version offers performance, scalability, and integration.
