Robert E. Best is a Senior Principal at Noah Consulting and Vice Chair of the PPDM Association. Noah Consulting is a Houston based firm that specializes in upstream information management strategy and planning. PPDM – the Professional Petroleum Data Management Association, is a Calgary based standards body that also promotes the professionalization of information management in the petroleum industry.
Previously, Robert E. Best served as the CTO of PetroWEB, a Denver based company that provides GIS web based data management and data access solutions. Before PetroWEB, Mr. Best was President of Neuralog, a Houston based company that specializes in tools for digital conversion, interpretation and management of E&P geosciences data. Mr. Best, has expertise in cartography, well logs, software development and geoscience data modeling and business management. He has been involved in the planning and implementation of information management projects at companies and sites worldwide including Nexen, Continental Resources, PDVSA, Pemex, KUFPEC, Sinopec and others.
Mr. Best has a B.S. and Masters in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
