Mike Piccolo

Mike has over 20 years of project experience in online control and optimization in a variety of industries including refining, chemicals and upstream. Mike started his career at Honeywell as a model-based optimization engineer and after a few years moved into advanced control. In 2007, after 13 years with Honeywell, he founded Piccolo Control Services. Over the last 10+ years as an independent consultant and contractor, Mike has worked on a wide range of projects primarily in North America. Mike has enjoyed several opportunities deploying APC on new processes while also continuously searching for better solutions for the old ones. Piccolo Control has been an Aspen Tech implementation service partner since 2016. Mike is a registered Professional Engineer in the province on Ontario and holds a BS and Master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
