Mark has 26 years’ experience in the petroleum refining industry with a variety of responsibilities—Business Manager, Area Operations Manager, Lead Process Engineer, Optimization Leader, Advanced Control Engineer, Operations Engineer, Process Engineer, and Refinery Advanced Controls Consultant. He has significant refinery consulting experience in Advanced Process Control (APC) implementation and served on crude, hydroprocessing, and energy best practice teams for refinery processes. His experience includes crude/vacuum units, gas plants, hydrocrackers, hydrotreating, sulfur/amine, and hydrogen plants. Mark is also a certified Master Black Belt with Six Sigma.

Additionally, Mark supports Solomon’s biennial Fuels Study; assists with Solomon’s Workforce Optimization (WFO) projects worldwide, conducting best practices reviews, process maps, interviews, work sampling, detailed fuels study analysis, and recommendations for optimized organization chart and processes; serves as project manager for Solomon’s Performance Excellence Process™ (PEP) projects, and provides pro forma and gap analysis support for Q1 Day 1 projects, helping clients justify future capital project implementations.
