EDITOR’S NOTE: The following graphic was inadvertently omitted from “The value of integrating field-based processes” article by Deborah Close of Digital Oilfield that appeared in the May issue of OGFJ.
When it comes to invoicing, historically there has been a significant disconnect from the drilling rig or field location to the back office. The reconciliation of daily charges incurred in the field to the eventual invoice is a major problem for most operating companies and their suppliers.
Digital Oilfield has created the DCRTM (Daily Charge Recorder), a stand-alone solution that provides a touch-screen PC application for the industry’s first “point-of-sale” solution for the oilfield. DCR provides for electronic approval of daily charges at the rigsite or field location, so that items are all approved at the rig or field site by the operating company representative on a daily basis.
Both supplier and operator electronically adjudicate transactions in the field when they take place (graphic at right).
