Alange Energy Corp., Toronto, said the Copa-1 well on the Cubiro block in Colombia’s Llanos basin tested at 854 b/d of 40.4° gravity oil, natural, from perforations in Carbonera C5, where it cut 13 ft of net oil sand at 4,400 ft true vertical depth subsea.

– Alange Energy Corp., Toronto, said the Copa-1 well on the Cubiro block in Colombia’s Llanos basin tested at 854 b/d of 40.4° gravity oil, natural, from perforations in Carbonera C5, where it cut 13 ft of net oil sand at 4,400 ft true vertical depth subsea.

The discovery well is still to test the Carbonera C3 and C7 formations, topped at 4,230 ft and 4,717 ft TVDss, respectively. All three formations are new pays in the Cubiro block. Total depth is 6,383 ft.

At least two appraisal wells, Copa-2 and Copa-3, are on Alange Energy's drilling schedule to spud on May 20 and June 21, respectively.
