HOUSTON, Nov. 2
– India’s Oil & Natural Gas Corp. Ltd. reported a geological discovery at the Matar-12 well in Matar field on the Dabka-Sarbhan PEL block in the Cambay basin.

Eocene Ankleshwar at 1,793.5-95.5 m tested 355 b/d of 40.9° gravity oil and 234 Mcfd of gas on a 6-mm bean. ONGC said the well has potential in shallower intervals that are being tested.

The company said the well opens a 60 sq km area for further exploration and delineation of the new reservoir.
