Pipelay progresses late last year during installation of 9 miles of 8 in. for Shell Offshore Inc. to an interconnect with Tennessee Gas Pipeline's 26-in. east leg of the Bluewater Pipeline, Gulf of Mexico. The $2.3 million project used Global Industries' 275-ft Chickasaw with its 79-ft diameter reel. Pipelay required approximately 24 hr running at 2,000 ft/hr.
