Hibernia topsides, base construction nearing completion
Construction of the Hibernia oil field platform is almost complete at Bull Arm, Newf. Shown at left are the completed topsides and drilling-production facilities. At right, the last major concrete pour has been completed for the concrete gravity base structure. The base and topsides are to be mated in March, with tow-out slated for June to the Grand Banks off Newfoundland, and start-up scheduled for yearend 1997.
