Internet measurement service for gas producers
The new eFlow internet measurement service gathers, processes, communicates, and distributes information about natural gas operations to personnel throughout an organization.
It manages data transfer between the electronic flow measurement (EFM) products installed in an oil or gas field and the internet.
Users can expect low monthly rates for data collection, detailed billing information, and fewer missed data reads, the company says. The EFM device is polled for information as many times as needs dictate. A poll-on-demand feature allows quick updates of critical information.
Because eFlow can collect, store, and present data from almost any manufacturers' EFM devices, all volume data are consolidated into one location.
Services include:
- Two polls per day for API Chapter 21 audit trail information.
- Data storage and uninterruptible power supply backup protection.
- 24-hr customer support and monitoring of communication links.
- Data access through the worldwide web.
- Data security using 128-bit encryption certified by VeriSign site security.
- Downloadable reports that can be distributed to anyone, anywhere in an organization.
- Automatic notification of alarm conditions.
- Access to data using poll-on-demand feature.
- Integration of flow data into gas accounting, recalculation, and other software packages.
The EFM unit provides accurate measurement at the wellhead, pipeline, or gathering system, the firm notes. The EFM unit promises gas producers, operators, and pipelines high performance measurement.

Adapter added to data management program
WINDS Enterprise 3.0, the latest version of WINDS Enterprise-an oil and gas industry data management program-offers improved performance, has a new adapter to Geoplus's Petra interpretation package, a well log viewer function, and a three-frame graphic user interface.
Multiple types of data can be accessed, viewed, and transferred between dis-parate applications within a secure web environment.
The new Petra adapter allows for the seamless transfer of data between multiple packages.

Valve actuator provides data wirelessly
The new, nonintrusive IQ valve actuator enables users to monitor valve operation data, diagnose valve problems, and download valve operation data via its infrared port to a PC or cell phone as a standard feature. No hardwire hookup is needed.
The new actuator comes bundled with IQ-Insight software that provides charts, graphs, and other formats that help users check valve torque profiles and valve operation statistics.
Other features of the new actuator include:
- Double sealing protection, which prevents ingress of moisture and dirt.
- Digital communication connectivity through Pakscan, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus, and Modbus.
- Standard on-board data logger.
- Reduced number of components made possible by system-on-a-chip electronics that help enhance reliability and performance.
- Enhanced corrosion protection.
- Accepts three-phase, single-phase, and dc power supplies.
- Easy installation, commissioning, and reconfiguring via nonintrusive hand-setting tool.
Previous generations of IQ actuators are in use on pipelines, at storage terminals, and other operations where motor operated valves are required.

Integrated pipeline software expanded
The edition for liquid service is a new version of the integrated pipeline software, Pipeline Toolbox. It's specifically designed for use by crude and liquid product pipelines.
This edition includes 70 programs that address pipeline facilities, hydraulics, design, analysis, testing, maintenance, and corrosion control. It includes all US Department of Transportation-US Minerals Management Service regulations and forms and many engineering utility programs.
Two new features are the document management system module and applications management system module. These two modules enable the user to customize their own copy of the Pipeline Toolbox allowing them to add links to frequently used documents and programs or spreadsheets from other sources. These two features allow a company to customize the software to their own standards.
