Shell makes changes to executive committee

Shell plc has made changes to its executive committee as Huibert Vigeveno, downstream, renewables, and energy solutions director, intends to step down in March.

Shell plc has made changes to its executive committee as Huibert Vigeveno, downstream, renewables, and energy solutions director, and a member of the executive committee, intends to step down effective Mar. 31, 2025. 

Vigeveno, who has served at Shell for 30 years and has been a member of the executive committee since Jan. 1, 2020, will leave the company to pursue other opportunities, Shell said in a release Jan. 23. 

Andrew Smith will be appointed director, trading and supply, and Machteld de Haan will be appointed director, downstream, renewables, and energy solutions. Both will join the executive committee on Apr. 1, 2025. 

Smith was appointed executive vice-president, trading and supply in 2017. He joined Shell in 1986. 

de Haan was appointed executive vice-president, chemicals and products in 2023. She joined Shell in 1998.
